Job Summary:

Join our highly visible team in the Multi-Mission Cyber Security (MMCS) department and perform technically challenging assignments, which will directly contribute to protecting our nation and our Warfighters. Currently, we are seeking a Systems Security Engineer Intern to function as an individual contributor for the Systems Security Engineering team. As an intern on our elite Systems Security Engineering (SSE) team, you will get the unique opportunity to help develop solutions to protect the Warfighter’s technology advantage. Systems Security Engineering creates holistic security solutions leveraging Software Assurance, Risk Management Framework, Authorization & Accreditation, Vulnerability Scanning, and System Hardening.

Be ready to support interesting and challenging work in various areas to include Cyber/IA, Hardware repairs, Lab Maintenance, Software Development and Program Management

This position can be a Junior, Senior, or Post Graduate Technical Intern based on the candidate's qualifications and standing as outlined below:

  • (Junior Technical Intern) - must be enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program and classified as a Junior by start of internship

  • (Senior Technical Intern)- must be enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program and classified as a Senior by start of internship

  • (Post-Graduate Technical Intern) - must have an undergraduate degree and be enrolled in a graduate degree program (in degree fields listed in Qualifications You Must Have) by start of internship

Responsibilities to Anticipate:

  • Provide IA/Cyber Support

  • Develop and maintain classified Authority to operate(ATO) RMF documentation

  • Analyze classified security scans (SCAP, ACAS, STIGs)

  • Access classified lab to execute scans (SCAP, ACAS, STIGs)

  • Download latest patches and install on classified workstations

  • Execute STIGs and ACAS scans

  • Assist with hardware maintenance support in all states and modes of preventative & corrective maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs.

  • Assist with research for the development of IA/Cyber/HW/SW documentation

Basic Qualifications:.

  • Must be a Junior, Senior, or Post Graduate student by the start of summer 2024 in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM)

  • US citizenship is required, as only US citizens are eligible for a security clearance

  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

  • This position is an onsite role. Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products.

Clearance Information: This position requires a security clearance. DCSA Consolidated Adjudication Services (DCSA CAS), an agency of the Department of Defense, handles and adjudicates the security clearance process. The salary range for this role is 37,000 USD - 82,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
