Overview

GovCIO is currently hiring for Accounting Analystto provide support to our client examining, auditing, and processing travel vouchers submitted by the client staff. You will utilize the Federal Travel Regulations (FTR) as well as organization policies to perform the review of the travel vouchers.This position will be located in Sterling, Virginiaand will be hybrid position with required days in the client site office and other days for remote work.

Responsibilities

Applies principles of accounting to analyze financial information and prepare financial reports. Maintains or oversees the control of accounts and records in such areas as disbursements, expenses, tax payments, and income. Compiles and analyzes financial information to record transactions, prepare reports, and review and verify accuracy. Prepares balance sheet and profit and loss statements, consolidated financial statements, and other accounting schedules and reports. May design, modify, install, and/or maintain accounting systems to ensure an adequate recognition of financial transactions. Responsible for the adherence to and communication of accounting and auditing policies and procedures.

• Prepares financial statements and supporting schedules according to monthly close plan.

• Prepares forecasts and reports detailing revenues and expenses by cost center.

• Analyzes financial statements, and investigates and reports on variances.

• Prepares tax returns and other corporate reporting requirements.

• Assists with preparations for the annual audit.

• Corresponds with other departments to ensure proper accounting for revenue, purchases and expenses.

Qualifications

Analysis of financial and accounting data to solve a wide variety of financial and accounting problems. Uses standard and specialized reports on automated systems. Enter data into computerized financial management systems. Has knowledge of finance and accounting principles and systems.

Associates degree in Accounting and/or specialized courses in Finance, Accounting, Business, Information Systems, or other related disciplines

Additional experience can substitute for the degree and a Bachelors degree can substitute for at least two (2) years of experience.

Preferred Skills and Experience

Knowledge of the Concur software.

Posted Pay Range

The posted pay range, if referenced, reflects the range expected for this position at the commencement of employment, however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, education, experience, and internal equity. The total compensation package for this position may also include other compensation elements, to be discussed during the hiring process. If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and the GovCIO reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, GovCIO or individual department/team performance, and market factors.

USD $50,000.00 - USD $58,000.00 /Yr.
