Job Description
The Budget Specialist II, under general supervision, reviews and approves moderately complex budgetary documents and performs moderately complex budgetary analysis.
Responsibilities:
Prepares journal and budget entries. Collects, analyzes, processes, reports, and distributes data
Provides advice and assistance concerning budget and funding procedures and methods to assigned academic unit and administrative unit
Creates and submits account profiles to create new accounts and works with assigned academic and administrative unit to establish the budget.
Reviews, evaluates, and prepares requests for funds. Prepares and maintains budgetary analysis of funds and prepares reconciliations
Assists with the preparation of the Annual Operating Budget, and Legislative Appropriation Request (LAR)
Develops training material and conducts training. Assists and leads staff
Collects, analyzes, processes, reports, and distributes data. Analyzes financial and operating trends
Provides advice and assistance concerning budget and funding procedures and methods. Prepares budget transfers and financial reports
Performs fiscal analysis and responds to budget inquires.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in applicable field or equivalent combination of education and experience
Three years of related experience
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications.
Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others. Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Salary
Commensurate with experience
The target base annual salary is $43,620 and may be negotiable based on funding availability and candidate experience/skillset in relation to the minimum requirements of this position.
