POSITION: Innovation Coach, District TYPE OF POSITION: 1.0 FTE Teacher on Special Assignment Hours may vary based on program needs REPORTS TO: Director of Innovation and Instructional Technology SUPERVISION: None QUALIFICATIONS: Required Minimum 5 years successful teaching experience with a current MN teaching license Background and experience in instructional technology strategies and frameworks Knowledge of district vision and strategic planning A history of engaging in a culture of innovation and school leadership. Effective organization and time management skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both large and small group settings Ability to work with diverse groups Capacity to work a flexible and/or extended yearly schedule, along with working a flexible daily/weekly schedule (occasional evenings may be required) Comply with personnel policies and be sensitive to the privacy and confidentiality of the School District and student populations Preferred Master's degree in instructional technology Demonstrated leadership at the school and/or district level Knowledge of high yield instructional strategies Training in Cognitive Coaching Experience in Co-Teaching POSITION SUMMARY: The Innovation Coach will work in partnership with teachers, building leaders, media specialists, and academic coaches to support student learning in all content areas. The Innovation Coach will provide coaching support for licensed staff around innovative practices and instructional technology integration. Additionally, the Innovation Coach will assist with the review, evaluation, and implementation of emerging technologies related to learning and teaching. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Nurture and model a culture of innovation within schools. Support non-tenured teachers through formal and informal coaching sessions around innovation and instructional technology strategies. Provide direct coaching to teachers in the use of instructional technology strategies in their classrooms. Engage in reflective conversations with teachers to assist in making instructional technology decisions to most effectively meet the needs of their students. Provide professional development and feedback to teachers regarding the implementation of innovative practices. Model best practice strategies in classrooms to improve instructional practices. Assist teachers with analysis of formal and informal assessment data as it relates to innovative instruction. Collaborate with media specialists and academic coaches regularly. Partner with Learning and Teaching around integration of technology on current curriculum and upcoming curriculum adoptions. Work with media specialists, information support specialists, and learning & teaching on student account management. Curate resources and materials to support both synchronous and asynchronous professional learning. Engage with families to support a better understanding of innovative practices and strategies as it relates to learning. Professional Responsibilities Work to promote productive relationships with and among building and district staff. Actively participate in innovation team meetings and planning. Manage time and maintain flexibility in schedule to maximize teacher supports. Continue professional growth and strengthen professional knowledge, skills, and strategies.
