Cabela's Operations Planner in Springfield, United States

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Operations Planner will be instrumental in ensuring the smooth and efficient production plans for multiple manufacturing facilities, as well as adapting schedules to accommodate changes and unforeseen circumstances. As the vital link between our sales force and plant operations, the Operations Planner will facilitate clear communication and coordination to meet customer demands and optimize workflow.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Develops and maintains detailed production schedules in alignment with company objectives and manufacturing capabilities.

  • Analyzes and adjusts schedules as needed in response to changes in customer demand, material availability, or production capacity.

  • Serves as a primary point of contact between sales and production teams, ensuring that both departments are fully informed of schedules, changes, and priorities.

  • Coordinates and leads regular scheduling meetings with sales, production, and other relevant departments to discuss production status, potential challenges, and action plans.

  • Monitors production progress and work with department leads to resolve any issues that may impact schedules.

  • Utilizes production planning software and tools to forecast and plan for short-term and long-term production needs.

  • Communicates effectively with all levels of management and staff to ensure that production goals are understood and met.

  • Generates and distributes comprehensive reports on production schedules, status updates, and performance metrics.

  • Collaborates with supply chain and procurement teams to ensure the timely availability of materials needed to meet production schedules.

  • Contributes to continuous improvement initiatives by providing feedback and suggestions to enhance scheduling processes and overall operational efficiency.

  • ALL OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED.

EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum Degree Required: Bachelor's Degree

  • Preferred Degree: Bachelor's Degree in Business Admin., Operations Management, related field

  • Years of experience: Five

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITY:

  • Proficient in production planning software and Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.

  • Proactive problem-solver with a collaborative and team-oriented mindset.

  • Regularly performs computer work and sits.

  • Occasionally walks and stands.

INDEPENDENT JUDGEMENT :

  • Performs duties within scope of general company policies, procedures, and objectives. Analyzes problems and performs needs assessments. Uses judgment in adapting broad guidelines to achieve desired result. Regular exercise of independent judgment within accepted practices. Makes recommendations that affect policies, procedures, and practices.
