Description
The Retail & Customer Service Specialist's primary function is to provide in-depth customer service, in person as well as via telephone and email, to students, faculty and staff, operating and performing sales on a computerized point-of-sale register, serve as a liaison between eCampus and students, providing general information as well as in-depth customer service in navigating the virtual bookstore site, troubleshooting issues, as well as processing on-site book buy-back and rental returns. This position is also responsible for assisting in the ordering of general merchandise and clothing items for resale in the college bookstore, receiving and invoicing purchase orders, assist in processing on-line general merchandise orders as well as the bookstore's annual inventory and providing help in the Copy Center/Mail Room, as needed. These duties are performed at all Clark State College campus locations. *RELATIONSHIPS AND CUSTOMERS *

* * ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES * *
1.
Creates and processes purchase orders for general merchandise and clothing for resale in the college bookstore. Receives and invoices purchase orders in the college bookstore; computes the cost and retail prices.
2.
Meets with manufacturers reps assisting in the selection of merchandise, keeping current of all trends, and best practices related to purchasing and displaying general merchandise, making recommended changes as appropriate.
3.
Assists students in choosing supplies and general merchandise, answers student inquiries concerning the bookstore voucher process and general questions on the process of ordering textbooks on the virtual bookstore. Provides in-depth customer service to students via telephone and in-person regarding navigating the Virtual Bookstore and trouble-shooting issues. Conducts on-site buybacks of textbooks as well as processing textbook rental returns for eCampus.
