Job Developer 1 The Job Developer 1 interviews clients to determine initial and ongoing eligibility for one or more workforce development programs or services. Initiates and maintains ongoing relationships with individuals needing career services, training, job placement and potential barrier reduction/elimination assistance. Initiate and maintain ongoing personal contacts with a variety of business and industry representatives and training agencies to promote programs for participant placement. Researches the internet, job posting sites, boards, OhioMeansJobs.com as well as other local agencies, employers and resources for job leads to assist participants in locating appropriate employment. Assists individuals after successful completion of training with stable, appropriate, and permanent employment. Collects data from employers related to job orders including job requirements and skills. Participates in outreach and recruitment activities by coordinating and attending job fairs and hiring events. The Job Developer 1 conducts workshops, individual and group interactions for diverse populations in order to provide necessary information and skills to improve the success of our customers. The Job Developer 1 could be assigned a position within our Resource Room, Comprehensive Case Management Employment Program (CCMEP Youth program) or our Program Unit (managing work activities for participants). Minimum Qualification: •High school diploma or GED Desired Qualifications: •One year experience in a position providing customer service •One year experience with workforce development, education, vocation or occupational programs •Formal training/certification using Microsoft Excel and Word •One year experience in career counseling, pre-employment assessments, skills training, job readiness training and other activities related to employment transition for job-seeking candidates •Documented experience leading workshops and/or making public presentations. •Documented experience working with adult and youth at-risk populations or individuals with disabilities What are we looking for? ?Excellent customer service and communication skills ?The ability to analyze and solve problems ?Above average writing skills ?Excellent organizational skills ?Professional appearance
