Description

The Academic Advisor, College Credit Plus is responsible for advising for College Credit Plus, new and returning undergraduate students and assisting them in achieving their educational goals in accordance with the mission, vision and core values of Clark State College. The Academic Advisor will also focus on providing college and community referrals as needed to support retention and completion.  This position is responsible for supporting relationships with prospective students, parents and high school counselors in the college's service district.  Working in collaboration with the Assistant Director, Early College Programs, this position will distribute State of Ohio rules and regulations to advising staff, students and parents regarding CCP. This position is also responsible for representing Clark State College at CCP information sessions and other CCP events at high schools. This position also meets with undergraduate students during peak periods of enrollment.

* * ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES * *

1.

Orients new students to the institutional policies and procedures for the college, including financial aid and registration processes.

2.

Manages College Credit Plus email inbox.

3.

Work with the appropriate academic schools to provide advising for academic program requirements and course scheduling.

4.

Creates an academic plan for each advisee and tracks the student's progress. Communicates with students regarding any academic progress.

5.

Collaborates with faculty advisors and academic support services to provide retention and completion support for students.
