Trinity Health CLINICAL QUALITY IMPROVEMENT COORDINATOR - RN Required in Springfield, Massachusetts

Position Purpose

Responsibility and accountability for the overall coordination of process design related to various clinical quality measures (e.g. CORE, LeapFrog, Stars etc.) and management of data for key medical staff office functions, including those related to the performance of OPPE/FPPE and Peer Review. Leads efforts related to data collection in many areas (e.g. OPPE/FPPE), developing new and innovate reports, and manages assigned clinical projects with minimal direction from management (i.e., evaluating current status, identifying opportunities for improvements, working with responsible managers, and implementing ongoing performance measurements). Provides clinical quality reviews of data for potential/actual risk incidents and/or potential/actual adverse events for medical staff quality profiles, and inquiries by external agencies. Participates in credentialing and re-credentialing process as well as Peer Review. Prepares Safety and Quality reports, and facilitates Safety and Quality Root Cause Analyses and subsequent actions plans

What you will do

  • Coordinates various performance improvement teams working to improve patient care through process redesign and researching best practice

  • Acts as the clinical resource for the department and hospital regarding medical record abstraction and understanding of data algorithms, including medical record review with regulatory agencies as appropriate

  • Reviews and prepares cases for peer review committee

  • Leads efforts to gather, manage, and track data related to assigned tasks, including OPPE/FPPE for the medical staff office

  • When necessary, works cooperatively with appropriate dept managers/supervisors to develop corrective action plans to improve outcomes

Minimum Qualifications

  • RN licensure in the state of Massachusetts. Work requires the level of knowledge a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience. Master's degree preferred

  • At least five to ten (5 – 10) years of current clinical experience in an acute care facility required

  • Previous knowledge and experience in quality improvement initiatives required

  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience with facilitating/leading workgroups focusing on clinical issues

  • Knowledge of continuous quality improvement tools and techniques
