DESCRIPTION OF WORK In this position you will have the opportunity to consult and collaborate with interdisciplinary clinical and non-clinical support staff in the monitoring and evaluations of the quality assurance and risk management program activities at the Southeastern Veterans Center. As a Quality Assurance/Risk Management Specialist, you will participate in Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) programs and processes as well as the Quality Improvement committee. Work includes providing necessary training to staff and consulting with leadership regarding QAPI tools and techniques, data collection, and data analysis. You will be required to maintain a thorough knowledge and understanding of state and federal regulations, legislation, and DHS standards. Responsibilities include, but will not be limited to: Providing and assisting in the implementation and monitoring of action plans Investigating reported problems related to safety of patients and staff, injury reports, as well as patient complaints and abuse Participating in the organization and coordination of third party and in-house surveys Recommending methods and actions to prevent and/or to correct staffing and operating deficiencies Monitoring follow-up activity reports to prevent problem reoccurrences Interested in learning more? Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full-time employment Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: Two years of professional experience as a member of a multiple disciplinary treatment team in a public or private health care facility and a bachelor's degree; or Two years of clinical experience in a human services agency, including one year of administrative, evaluative, or consultative experience in a health care program; and a bachelor's degree with major course work in social work, nursing, health care administration, behavioral sciences or a related field; or Any equivalent combination of experience and training. You must be able to perform essential job functions. Legal Requirements: A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination and drug screening. This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
