Corewell Health President Corewell Health Medical Group East in Southfield, Michigan
Job Summary
In collaboration with the SVP, Medical Group Operations, the president will oversee all aspects of the Corewell Health Medical Group East including culture building, strategic planning, quality, financial performance, physician and APP recruitment and engagement, programmatic and service line development and strengthening and developing new value-based care initiatives. The president will work closely with all members of the Corewell Health East Leadership Team (ELT) and serve as a valued member of this senior team.
Essential Functions
Lead and implement Corewell Health Medical Group East clinical initiatives that support quality improvement and program management.
In partnership with the Corewell Health Medical Group East SVP, create, implement and provide oversight of an effective service line structure.
Oversee the monitoring, measurement, and quality improvement of clinical care.
Partner with the SVP on the implementation of operational and business development plans to enable Corewell Health Medical Group East growth of that is consistent with the organization’s strategic goals.
Support a multidisciplinary and outcome-driven approach to providing optimal patient experience and clinical outcomes.
Partner with the SVP to develop coordinated programs, service lines and improved communication methods that encourage front-line physician and APP participation, engagement, empowerment, and ownership in charting the clinical course and enhancing the reputation of the organization.
Partner with the SVP to lead transformation of practices, including adoption of information systems and electronic health records that result in efficient workflows, while enhancing provider satisfaction and patient experience.
Create a culture of quality and safety consistent with a highly-reliable organization.
Manage performance that sets high quality expectations throughout the medical group.
Enhance the ability of the medical group to better manage care in an increasingly constrained resource environment to ensure exceptional operational outcomes.
Participate in the development of physician leaders to encourage the progression and engagement of the next generation of physician leaders.
Provide ongoing education to employed physicians regarding administrative, regulatory and legal issues that surround health care reform at the state and national levels.
Participate in professional and community activities that promote a personal and professional philosophy of community involvement.
Demonstrate and communicate commitment to process improvement.
May be asked to perform clinical duties that are within the physician’s scope of practice from time to time for the primary purpose of maintaining medical competencies and familiarity with clinical practice within the system but no more than an average of 8 hours per week.
Complete all clinical documentation in a timely manner consistent with hospital, payor regulatory requirements.
Collaborates with Corewell Health System and all Care Delivery regions to develop and execute innovative care models that decrease unwanted clinical variation, reduce total cost of care and increase access.
Actively participates in safety initiatives and risk mitigating measures when appropriate and completes all position and unit safety related competencies and requirements on a timely basis.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Required
Master's Degree or equivalent in Hospital Administration, Business Administration, clinical discipline, or related area
Medical Doctor Degree (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine Degree (D.O.)
10 years of relevant experience of progressive physician practice/medical group operations and management/leadership experience
7 years of leadership experience
A demonstrated record of accomplishment in achieving operating goals
Experience collaborating with board members, employed physicians and community leaders
Licenses and Certifications
LIC-Physician (MD) - State of Michigan Upon Hire Required or
LIC-Osteopathic Physician (DO) - State of Michigan Upon Hire Required
