Robert Half Assistant Controller in Southfield, Michigan

Description

We are recruiting for an Assistant Controller in SOUTHFIELD, Michigan. This role is crucial to our operations, overseeing daily, monthly, quarterly, and annual operational reporting. The Assistant Controller will manage accounting shared services, including AP, AR, and payroll accounting, and lead corporate-related activities.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee the management of accounting shared services, focusing on processing efficiency and reporting accuracy.

• Supervise the preparation of financial statements, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.

• Manage non-company owned and partially owned investments (joint ventures and variable interest entities) and other corporate-level activities.

• Supervise international consolidations and assess the impact of foreign exchange on financial reporting.

• Oversee fixed asset reporting and support annual and quarterly audits.

• Lead performance management within the accounting shared services team, focusing on continuous improvement and development.

• Mentor a team, fostering a high-performance culture.

• Lead joint venture accounting and analysis, supporting new acquisitions and dispositions of assets.

• Implement and oversee new control systems and management reporting processes.

Requirements

• Minimum of 9 plus years of progressive experience.

• Proficient in US GAAP

• Skilled in SEC Reporting

• Experience with Financial Statements Consolidation

• Must hold a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification

• Demonstrated ability to manage and lead a team

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and financial management software

• High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results orientation

• Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles

• Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements, and projections

• Must be legally authorized to work in the United State
