Trinity Health Certified Nursing Assistant - Cardiac Intermediate Unit in Silver Spring, Maryland

Description:

Exciting Opportunity to Join our new Patient Care Model called Together Teams.

Together team model shifts responsibility to a 3 person-team. (bedside RN, partner CNA) and virtual RN.

Model brings added patient safety, expertise, and mentoring to bed side and leverages technology

Description:

  • CNA provides quality nursing care to patients; implements specific procedures and programs; coordinates work within the department, as well as with other departments; reports pertinent information to the immediate supervisor; responds to inquiries or requests for information; and assists the immediate supervisor with tasks to support department operations.

  • The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) may be assigned to function in either the Health Unit Coordinator or Nursing Assistant role.

Responsibilities:

  • Provides assistance with activities for daily living including eating, bathing, dressing, toileting, mobility

  • Assists patient with procedures/care (prosthetic device, sitz baths, catheter care, toileting, enemas, rectal bags, colostomy care, cold compresses).

  • Applies products appropriately (anti-embolism stockings, sequential compression devices, restraints, monitors).

  • Sets up respiratory and cardiac equipment (Oxygen, incentive spirometry, suction, EKGs, cardiac electrodes).

What you will need:

Required:

  • Certification as a nursing assistant by the Maryland Board of Nursing

  • High school diploma

  • BLS Certification

Preferred:

  • 1 year of hospital experience.
