Bassett Healthcare Diagnostic X-Ray Technologist I in Sidney, New York

What you'll do The Diagnostic X-Ray Technologist I, under the leadership of the Supervisor of Medical Imaging and working at the direction of the Radiology Manager, provides prompt, efficient, courteous services to patients while taking high-quality radiographs. This individual must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served. They must also have the ability to assess data reflective of the patient’s status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient’s requirements and provide the care needed. To provide high quality test results in a prompt and accurate fashion. Maintains an excellent quality of x-ray radiographs with a minimum of a 5% repeat rate as randomly checked by leadership. Provides fluoroscopic assistance to the Radiologists, setting up sterile trays, preparing and dispensing barium or other chemical mixtures as necessary, and assists in the positioning of patients during fluoroscopic examination as observed by leadership where applicable. Prepares, identifies and/or administers medication as prescribed by a licensed practitioner when applicable. Performs radiographic examinations as requested and in accordance to established protocols observed by leadership. Transports patients to and from the room when required as noted by leadership. Maintains a good working relationship with Radiology students that complete their clinical within our department. Provide a safe environment to our patients. Explains all procedures to patients and answers any questions or concerns regarding the test 100% of the time. Provides coverage for the OR, ER and portables in addition to the fluoroscopy procedures 100% of the time as noted by leadership where applicable. Maintains adequate level of inventory in all rooms within diagnostic Radiology. Restocks supplies within rooms as observed by leadership. Cleans and organizes x-ray rooms after patient use as observed by leadership. Performs daily checklists for safe patient care and regulatory readiness. Enhances professional growth and development through educational programs, current literature, in-service meetings and workshops. Maintains competence through continuing education 100% of the time as noted by leadership. Maintains appropriate continuing education credits to keep up licensure 100% of the time as recorded by leadership. Attends the necessary meetings to keep up with changes within the department. Attends monthly department meetings 90-95% of the time as recorded in the meeting minutes. Performs similar or related duties as requested or directed. Pay Range Salary is based on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, training, and fair market evaluation based on industry standards. Pay Range Minimum: USD $30.15/Hr. Pay Range Maximum: USD $45.23/Hr.
