Position Description

Functions as the lead person on a crew, which is responsible for the installation, operation and maintenance of all gas gathering stations, process/treating plants and related facilities. This position will serve as the Plant Facility SME for all Plant O&M. Will lead the plant maintenance group consisting of Mechanic and E&C Technicians, by way of scheduling, assigning work orders related to preventative maintenance, non-routine maintenance and compliance driven tasks to the group. The Crew Leader will report to and work closely with the Plant Facility Supervisor-Ops.

  • Responsible for the operation and maintenance of emergency generators, auxiliary engines, motors, cooling equipment, pumps, dehydration equipment, process/treating equipment, electrical, controls, valves, seals and related equipment.

  • A working member of a crew that functions as the lead member of that crew

  • Assist supervisor in the direction and daily prioritization of employee work plans for efficient operation.

  • Establish weekly work schedule based on established work direction from field management

  • Ensure training and development of the crew and provide updates on employee matters to field management

  • Start, stop and operate engines/pumps to maintain designated operating parameters.

  • Ensure the cost effective and efficient performance of all engines, motors, pumps and associated equipment at process/treating plant facilities.

  • Perform as the Lead Operator/SME related to treating facility operations/maintenance

  • Serve a key role related to the local WO/PO Program, by assuring all facility related work and purchase requests are reviewed, authorized, completed timely with record keeping remaining up to date.

  • Assign, schedule and assure all facility related WOs are scheduled, assigned and completed timely.

  • Responsible for the general upkeep and maintenance of all facilities and equipment, including both operations and maintenance of treating facility equipment, electrical and controls.

  • Maintain, adjust, make minor repairs, and operate equipment (e.g., amine plant, dehydrator units, air compressors, coolers …)

  • Represent the Company during contacts with contractors, landowner/tenants, public officials/emergency officials

  • Oversee the construction and/or maintenance activities performed by third party contractors.

  • Mentor, lead, train and assist facility assigned Operators.

  • Perform governmental compliance activities, assigned in MAXIMO/Ops Info Systems.

  • Identify report and correct safety and environmental concerns.

  • Actively participate in safety program and initiatives.

  • Participates in the development of O&M Procedures, Site Specific Procedures, project scopes and work plans.

  • Complete appropriate documentation and paperwork.

  • Perform all work in compliance with Company standards, procedures, and regulatory and tariff requirements

  • Demonstrate performance toward operational excellence.

  • Cover PTO/FLMA/STD and other operator shift openings.

  • Assist with plant operation in emergency situations (weather/etc.)

  • Perform annual compliances reviews of LOTO, fall protection, and others assigned by supervisor.

  • Lead non-routine job action plan meetings with operators.

    Education

  • High school diploma or GED

Experience, Specific Knowledge, Certification, Licenses

  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license, and a driving record satisfactory to the company and its insurers.

  • May be required to carry a commercial driver’s license

Competencies/Skills

  • Five years work experience in Operations of facility treating equipment, along with experience in troubleshooting, developing maintenance plans, schedules and overseeing contract working or employee works in completing tasks and scheduled maintenance.

  • Extensive experience and knowledge of all KH facility O&M activities.

  • Experience in training and instructing employees

  • Basic computer skills (knowledge of MS Office, operating systems, company software).

  • Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, decimals).

  • Experience analyzing, adjusting, and making minor repairs on treating facilities and equipment.

  • Knowledge of operating costs associated with the equipment in area of responsibility.

  • Knowledge and experience in safe handling practices of flammable gases, liquids and high pressure systems.

  • Knowledge of company policies and practices, and regulatory and tariff requirements.

  • Good verbal and written communication skills.

  • Customer focus.

  • Must be able to work as a team, take direction from supervisor(s), adhere to required work schedules, focus attention on details, and follow work rules.

  • Mentor fellow employees.

  • Ability to perform the required and expected duties with little or no direct supervision.

  • Ability to organize and prioritize daily work, and maintain strict confidentiality.

  • Working Conditions

  • Must be able to withstand extreme weather conditions

  • Required to carry a company-provided cell phone/pager, and be available to respond during working and non-working hours.

  • Overtime may be required and anticipated

  • Be available for Operator relief work

  • Travel is required and anticipated in and occasionally out of the assigned area.
