As a Operations Coordinator-Prep you will LEAD by……….

  • Establishing, reinforcing, and supporting a safe working environment by ensuring compliance with all relevant EHS regulations and procedures/policies. Perform weekly housekeeping inspections.

  • Managing the Work Order/ Work notification backlog in collaboration with the Production Maintenance Coordinator and the Area manager.

  • Developing and communicating the weekly Maintenance priorities, in collaboration with the Shift Supervisors, Technical Leads, Engineers and Area Manager.

  • Collaborating and helping plan and direct production activities and establish production priorities for daily goals in keeping with effective operations and cost factors.

  • Interacting daily with the Maintenance planners & scheduler to review maintenance plans to communicate production expectations and ensure these are communicated to the shift personnel.

  • Carrying out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.

  • Managing contract (temp) operators including interviewing, touring, hiring and time keeping.

  • Managing the Preparation Department Logistics Coordinator position.

  • Assist Area Manager in interviewing and touring permanent employee candidates as needed.

  • Filling in for Area Manager when needed during scheduled and unscheduled absences.

  • Participating in turnover meetings to support the Supervisor in the proper content.

  • Following agreed upon Leader Standard Work, content to be agreed upon with Area Manager.

  • Training employees: plan, assign, and collaborate with the Shift Supervisor to direct work; collaborate with the appraisal of individual performance; participate in rewarding and disciplining employees; address complaints and resolve problems.

  • Helping set goals and objectives for the operations staff of the area.

  • Directing and coordinating with assistance from the Shift Supervisors activities concerned with production uptime of all Preparation department operations.

  • Maintaining the Weekly and Daily Safe Schedule Attainment file, receive input from Area Manager to establish agreement.

  • Assisting with all Title V environmental reporting.

  • Assisting in revising production and maintenance schedules and priorities because of equipment failure or operating problems, establish a mechanism to have “additional production activities” and “short notice outage work” readily available in case of unexpected production breakdowns and upsets.

  • Working with Shift Supervisors and Production Logistics Coordinators to ensure that needed raw materials and packaging materials are ordered in a timely manner for upcoming production needs.

  • Working closely with Area Manager and Operations Engineers to implement process improvements, and safety improvements.

  • Implementing operating methods and procedures designed to eliminate operating problems and improve product quality.

  • Helping the Shift Supervisors and Technical Lead troubleshoot equipment and processes, ensure Operators are running the processes in the most efficient manner.

  • Taking the lead in investigation and resolution of nonconformances are investigated and resolved.

  • Being willing to work shifts on occasions when needed to fill in for Shift Supervisors during scheduled and unscheduled absences.

Your elements for success……

  • High School Diploma/Equivalent required with at least 5 years of related experience within a Chemical Manufacturing Environment; OR Bachelor’s degree with 2 years of experience in a supervisory/leadership role within a Chemical manufacturing environment.

  • Excellent skills collaborating with all levels within the site operations and support functions.

  • Solid experience managing large groups of operators.

  • Lean Six Sigma experience is a plus.

  • Intermediate to advanced computer skills and excellent math skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead and influence others.

  • Must be able to lift to 40 pounds.

BASF is committed to pay transparency practices. The competitive Pay Range for this role is$75,000-$95,000.Actual pay will be determined based on education, certifications, experience, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
