VICE PRESIDENT OF DIVERSITY, EQUITY, INCLUSION & BELONGING SALARY $178,500 to $203,400 FIND OUT ABOUT THIS ROLE AND OUR MISSION TO CREATE POSITIVE CHANGE The VP of DEIB role at Plymouth Housing is central to shaping the organization's culture and values. Responsibilities include leading strategic efforts to embed diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging (DEIB) principles throughout operations. Collaborating closely with the Executive Leadership Team, the VP of DEIB guides policy development, drives cultural transformation, and advocates for anti-racist practices. Duties also involve advising the board, measuring employee engagement, engaging with external partners, overseeing budgets, and ensuring vendor alignment with DEI values. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong communication skills, analytical abilities, DEIB expertise, and a deep commitment to fostering an inclusive environment. Plymouth Housing is a nonprofit organization that develops and operates permanent supportive housing for single adults who have experienced chronic homelessness. With apartment buildings throughout King County, Plymouth is helping the most vulnerable members of our community leave homelessness behind forever. At Plymouth, we're not simply trying to get people off the streets. We provide supportive services like case management and health care so that our residents can thrive long-term. As part of our strategic vision, we are building internal behavioral health services and transforming our systems to address rapid growth and the changing needs of residents. WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT TO BE DOING IN THIS ROLE AT PLYMOUTH HOUSING Develop and implement strategic plans and initiatives to promote diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging (DEIB) within the organization. At times serve as the primary representative in external engagements, effectively promoting our organization's commitment to DEIB principles and fostering positive relationships with stakeholders. Collaborate with senior leadership to integrate DEIB principles into the organization's mission, values, and practices. Shape organizational strategies and initiatives by providing insights and recommendations on integrating DEIB principles. Regularly communicate progress, challenges, and successes related to DEIB efforts to the executive leadership team and other stakeholders. Collaborate with external partners, consultants, and experts to stay informed about best practices and emerging trends in DEIB, integrating this knowledge into organizational strategies and initiatives. Conduct assessments and analyze data to identify gaps and opportunities for improvement in DEIB efforts. Provide leadership and guidance to the Board of Directors on DEIB matters. Advocate for anti-racist practices within and outside the organization. Oversee the Plymouth DEIB internal oversight committee and provide staff support to the Board of Directors DEIB and Advocacy Committee. Establish DEIB key performance indicators, evaluate the progress and effectiveness of initiatives, identify gaps, and support Plymouth leaders in developing action plans as necessary. Engage with external partners to leverage DEIB resources and opportunities, representing Plymouth Housing's values and goals. Review current vendors to ensure they align with Plymouth Housing's values and commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion. Oversee budgets for cultural activities, DEIB initiatives, and training. Partner with Marketing and Public Relations to develop DEIB content for external platforms and events. Serve on various organizational and external committees, contributing to broader DEIB efforts.
