Amazon Senior Product Manager, AWS Network Platform in Seattle, Washington

Description

AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. In other words, we’re the people who keep the cloud running. We support all AWS data centers and all of the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on. We work on the most challenging problems, with thousands of variables impacting the supply chain — and we’re looking for talented people who want to help.

You’ll join a diverse team of software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, operations managers, and other vital roles. You’ll collaborate with people across AWS to help us deliver the highest standards for safety and security while providing seemingly infinite capacity at the lowest possible cost for our customers. And you’ll experience an inclusive culture that welcomes bold ideas and empowers you to own them to completion.

Are you passionate about products that are easy to use, do exactly what you expect, and work 100% of the time? Do you want to build products like this? As a product leader, are you equal parts visionary and detail-obsessed?

Amazon Route 53 is a highly available and scalable cloud Domain Name System (DNS) service for all of Amazon, powering AWS services such as EC2, S3, ELB, RDS, CloudFront, and Lambda as well as other Amazon properties such as www.amazon.com. In addition to these large and fast-growing businesses, many AWS customers rely on Route 53 for their DNS needs. The Route 53 services are powered by purpose-built software developed from the ground-up at Amazon to meet the unique functionality and unprecedented scale requirements that our customers demand. This software already supports some of the largest workloads in the world, and we are constantly scaling and improving it to keep up with our ongoing rapid growth. We are the only AWS service to have a 100% data plane availability SLA, and we are constantly working on improvements to ensure we continue our achievement of this challenging standard.

The Route 53 team is seeking a talented, self-directed Senior Product Manager to drive key areas of our strategy and vision for Route 53. In this role, you will define, execute, and deliver a product roadmap that adds great value to our internal and external customers. This role is inherently cross-functional - you will work closely with engineering, design, sales, finance and executive teams to advocate for our customers and to help us build the future of our naming, routing, and security business.

Key job responsibilities

As a member of our team, you will:

  • Own a service layer that is critical to the continued success of all of Amazon, and many AWS customers

  • Mentor and be mentored by a great team of product and engineering leaders

  • Understand what it takes to grow and operate a global business at our scale

  • Work with engineering leaders to set strategy, define the product, and make the hard, high-judgment tradeoffs between features and time-to-market

  • Dive deep into customer experience, architecture and design in partnership with the development teams

  • Develop detailed, crisp business requirements and user stories, and define the pricing for your services
