The Department of Laboratory Medicine and Pathology has an outstanding opportunity for a Medical Laboratory Courier WORK SCHEDULE

  • This route is a 50% FTE and runs on Saturday and Sunday

  • 10 hours each day. Route shift hours are 12:30pm- 11:00pm WHAT WE OFFER

  • Relocation incentive for eligible new employees. REQUIRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS Possession of a valid vehicle operator's license. PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Drives a University vehicle to transport laboratory specimens, laboratory reports, supplies and other designated materials between UWMC and medical facilities and laboratories within Washington State.

  • Works with biohazardous specimens. Must be vigilant about risk of exposure to bloodborne pathogens through needle stick or spillage.

  • Transports lab supplies and related materials to be delivered to client locations on an as - needed basis.

  • Performs assigned route.

  • Exercises independent judgment in determining ability to accommodate clients' requests for additional service within the assigned shift.

  • Maintains accurate records of individual route stops and specimens transported.

  • Keeps assigned University vehicle clean, and fuel tank sufficiently filled per RLS Courier Group protocol.

  • Teaches and demonstrates tasks and shares job knowledge with trainees as assigned.
