Amazon Front End Engineer III, OpenSearch in Seattle, Washington

Amazon OpenSearch Service is looking for a skilled Front End Engineer to join our team to build a build world-class Dashboard platform. In this role, you will be instrumental in shaping the foundation of OpenSearch Dashboards, driving plugin expansion, and ensuring a seamless user interface with effective data visualizations.

Amazon OpenSearch Service is a fully managed service that delivers OpenSearch easy-to-use APIs and real-time capabilities along with offering predictable performance and seamless scalability for production workloads.

The Amazon OpenSearch Service team designs, develops and operates software that allows customers to index, search and analyze documents at scale in a secure, responsive, and reliable environment. We are currently looking for a rock-star web developer to build world-class platform for our customers. Are you an expert in web technologies? Key job responsibilities

Lead the development and maintenance of the OpenSearch Dashboards core codebase, ensuring high-quality, scalable, and efficient code.

Architect and implement features in the UI library, providing a robust foundation for the user interface of OpenSearch Dashboards applications.

Collaborate with plugin teams to design and implement platform features that facilitate seamless expansion, customization, and optimal integration of visualizations.

Provide expertise and guidance on best practices for data visualizations within OpenSearch Dashboards, ensuring an exceptional user experience.

Work closely with backend developers to ensure seamless integration between frontend and backend components.

Design and maintain UI libraries to be utilized by plugin teams, fostering consistency and efficiency.

Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry best practices to enhance OpenSearch Dashboards' frontend architecture.

Basic Qualifications

  • 4+ years of non-internship professional front end, web or mobile software development using JavaScript, HTML and CSS experience

  • 5+ years of front-end developer creating prototypes or wire-frames for enterprise web applications or workflows experience

  • Experience developing with MVC/MVM frameworks (e.g. React.JS, AngularJS, Vue)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of web services technologies such as SOAP, HTTP, WSDL, XSD, and REST

  • Experience in a broad range of software design approaches and common UX patterns.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $134,500/year in our lowest geographic market up to $261,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
