Job Description: Produce financial and market intelligence by querying data repositories and generating periodic reports. Partner with teams of Engineering, Product Management, Strategy, and Data Scientists to analyze data of market, industry, business intelligence, technology, web traffic, and competitive intelligence. Meet with Engineering & Product partners about requests and work items. Write SQL to calculate requested metrics. Use advanced statistical and analytical tools to extract insights from data. Prioritize tasks by time taken and importance to the business, ensuring a consistent flow of work is being completed. Analyze, summarize, and synthesize data to support recommendations for action. Develop competitive market insights through analysis of related product, market, and competitive intelligence. Generate standard and custom analytical reports for review by executives, managers, and other stakeholders. Evaluate dashboard requests from stakeholders and partners. Write SQL to pull data; collect business intelligence data from available web data, industry reports, public information, and purchased sources. Use Python to automate ETL procedures. Develop metrics, visualizations, or other communications systems which allow for easy, intuitive, and efficient grasp of information. Design and create business intelligence tools; update them and manage timely flow of market trends, technology trends, user trends, and other business intelligence information. Maintain library of model documents, metric definitions, templates, or other reusable knowledge assets. Work with Product partners to design complex A/B tests and other experiments in a statistically rigorous way. Identify and calculate key metrics for determining whether an experiment has succeeded or failed, and provide a final recommendation based on the results. Be the point person for analytics focusing on a specific area of Redfin's business, able to answer a wide variety of questions and provide independent data-driven insights that will improve the business and support recommendations. Take ownership of the analytics for a specific area of the business as assigned by management. Understand how the area of the business is measured, how it fits into the rest of the business, and why it matters. Undertake independent investigations into the data related to the area, including data of market, industry, technology, users, web traffic, etc. Use these understandings to provide a point of view on business decisions. Receive requests from Product, Engineering, and/or C-level team for presentation on the state of listing data quality and the results of recent analysis. Determine appropriate format for presentation, craft presentation to provide useful business direction to stakeholders, and deliver presentation to requesters. Telecommuting permitted.

The position requires a Bachelor's or foreign equivalent degree in Business Analytics, Statistics, Operations Research, Economics, Computer Science or in related field and 6 months of experience in the job offered or in a computer-related occupation.

Special Requirements: Position requires experience in each of the following skills:

SQL languages to query data from database platforms, including: MySQL or PostgreSQL.

Data visualization tools for reporting and dashboards to track KPIs and deliver insights into understandable format, including Tableau;

Data modeling and statistical skills to create KPI metrics and goal setting to drive business results;

Test, debug, and other code competency as it relates to and support development of the analytics code base;
