Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) is seeking an Associate or Experienced Test Support Engineer with expertise in reviewing component maintenance manuals to join our Supply Chain Engineering team in Seattle, WA .

Assists in demonstrating the effectiveness of test methods. Develops simple test procedures, and instrumentation and configuration definition needed to perform the test and minimize risk. Designs component and sub-assembly level hardware or software and uses analytical tools to verify the design. Assists in coordinating the manufacture and assembly of test hardware. Identifies solutions to basic problems and supports the development of metrology processes, methods, and tools. Supports development of test debrief material. Participates in evaluation of test performance data. Reviews test data for accuracy, quality and/or fidelity prior to delivery to customer. Alerts senior engineers of off-nominal data. Prepares test reports for review. Works under general supervision.

As a Test Support Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the reliability, safety, and quality of Avionic Systems by overseeing and validating test support provided by Boeing Suppliers. You will be responsible for working with suppliers, collaborating with cross-functional teams, reviewing supplier test data and test procedures, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives, thus contributing to the delivery of safe and high-quality products.

Our team is currently hiring for a broad range of experience levels including; Associate (Level 2) and Experienced (Level 3) Test Support Engineers.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with suppliers to establish robust test procedures and protocols for avionic systems.

  • Review and evaluate supplier-provided test plans, procedures, and documentation for adequacy and compliance with project requirements.

  • Analyze test data and fault isolation reports to identify discrepancies, anomalies, and areas of concern.

  • Verify the accuracy, completeness, and compliance of test data with specified requirements and industry standards.

  • Implement quality assurance processes to ensure that all test activities adhere to established standards and guidelines.

  • Conduct thorough reviews of test results, identifying potential risks and opportunities for improvement.

  • Ensure that all testing activities align with safety regulations, standards, and best practices applicable to avionic systems.

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the efficiency, effectiveness, and reliability of supplier testing processes.

  • Participate in safety assessments and audits to identify and mitigate potential hazards or safety-critical issues.

  • Provide technical guidance and support to suppliers in implementing effective testing methodologies and resolving issues related to test support.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite in Seattle, WA.

The position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor's Degree or higher in Engineering.

  • 1+ years of experience in aviation related and aircraft maintenance disciplines.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • 3+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (supply chain, aviation related or aircraft maintenance disciplines).

  • 3+ years of experience in performing integration and testing on avionics sub-systems.

  • Familiarity with relevant testing methodologies and tools.

Typical Education/Experience:

Associate (Level 2): Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 2 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. Master). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Experienced (Level 3): Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

Summary pay range (Associate): $85,850 -$116,150

Summary pay range (Experienced): $102,000 - $138,000
