REI Agile Project Manager, Customer Engine in Seattle, Washington

Overview

This position contributes to REI’s success by planning, leading, organizing, and motivating project teams who work on a portfolio of fast-paced projects within Marketing’s Customer Engine.

Successful candidates will have experience leading projects within an Agile Marketing environment to help influence more adaptive processes and systems that drive business agility and responsiveness. As both a strategic and operational partner, you are accountable for leading cross-functional teams through the full end-to-end project lifecycle orchestrating and linking the business and technology to delivery automation. You are accountable for the planning, scheduling, resourcing, monitoring, and reporting of a portfolio of projects with moderate complexity while maintaining transparency and visibility of the team’s work to stakeholder management. You are a curious and natural problem solver adept at cutting through ambiguity to make data-driven recommendations.

  • Project Team Leader: Serves as a hands-on project manager, collaborator and executor who can manage and motivate project teams helping them achieve a high level of performance and quality. Assembles cross-functional teams that can adjust quickly to drive change and business agility.

  • Meeting Management: Facilitates and recaps daily standup meetings to discuss progress and identify blockers to ensure work continues forward.

  • Project Planning & Control: Develops and maintains key project deliverables (project requirements, scheduling resourcing, workflows, risk and issue mitigation plans reporting and monitoring). Plans and organizes the pace of deliveries and iterations to promote greater business agility.

  • Adjustability & Problem Solving: Adept at navigating through ambiguity and uncertainties. Embraces change, encourages innovative problem-solving and facilitates the team’s ability to adjust and respond to evolving project needs.

  • Strategic Thinker: Able to link big picture strategy while driving tactical execution.

  • Data-based and Decision-Making Skills: Leverages data-based skills to evaluate project data, metrics, and performance indicators and uses the information to make informed selections, identifying improvement areas to optimize project outcomes.

  • Project Learnings: Relies on data-driven insights, project outputs and outcomes to drive continuous improvement and inform business direction. Reviews ongoing projects for efficiencies in schedule, resources, and process to enable cross-functional partners to be successful.

  • Risk and Issue Management: Anticipate, monitor, track, and control project risks, issues, dependencies, and change requests to mitigate impact and safeguard successful delivery. As needed, escalates to secure timely resolution.

  • Decision Making: Accountable for making and/or securing decisions that influence timely and successful resolution.

  • Communication and Reporting: Primary point of contact accountable for the development and delivery of project status updates to the team, key stakeholders, and Marketing leadership (Includes project milestones, deliverables, dependencies, decision status, risks and issues).

  • Industry Knowledge: Keeps pace on best practices relative to an omni-channel experience – all forms of digital and print

  • Technical Aptitude: Develops and maintains an expertise of our campaign delivery mechanisms to support effective problem-solving, prioritization and enable rapid project execution.

Responsibilities and Qualifications

  • 3+ years working within a fast-paced, highly matrixed Marketing Operations PMO as a Project Manager leading many concurrent projects within Agile workstreams.

  • Certification in one or more is preferred: PMI-Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP) and/or Certified Scrum Master (CSM).

  • Skilled in Microsoft Office business applications: Excel, Visio, and PowerPoint.

  • Proficient in video conferencing tools (Teams preferred), working knowledge of Adobe suite.

  • Knowledge and expertise of software development processes and engagement methodologies. Experience leading Agile development projects.

  • Demonstrated experience with Marketing tooling such as Workfront, Smartsheet for portfolio & project planning, tracking, and reporting

  • Demonstrated ability to straddle big picture strategy and downstream operational excellence

  • Proven knowledge and application of project management best practices, practices, and methodologies with the ability to blend them based on project requirements

  • Proficiency across all project phases (project planning, project requirements, scheduling, kick-offs, approvals, deliverables, issue resolution, monitoring, reporting etc)

  • Proven business acumen, critical thinking, problem solving, and organizational skills.

  • Exceptional problem-solving, conflict resolution, active listening, and time management skills

  • Ability to communicate effectively across several disciplines: business, creative, and technical roles.

  • Clearly conveying and accurately receiving information via a variety of methods and situations.

  • Dedicated project manager, collaborator, and ability to influence others on one's own team and cross-divisionally for the achievement of business goals

  • Project team organizer, builder, and motivator with exceptional influencing skills who can exercise judgment related to prioritization and risk management.

Pay Range

$83,700.00 - $134,000.00 per year
