Talent Acquisition Duties:

  • Collaborate with county departments to understand needs and develop successful recruitment and compensation strategies.

  • Build job descriptions and job postings and recommend external advertisement resources.

  • Review applicant resumes to determine the best fit for our positions and conduct a phone screen with qualified candidates to gather additional information to assist our hiring managers.

  • Participate in interview panels for high-level and priority positions in our organization.

  • Assist departments with strategic workforce planning and organizational design projects.

  • Represent Sarasota County at career fairs, community outreach events, and site visits with local schools, colleges, and universities to enhance employment opportunity awareness.

  • Identify and implement streamlined procedures to maximize the utilization of the county’s applicant tracking and onboarding system.

  • Support and onboard external candidates and internal job changes with background checks, education and employment verifications, and regularly communicate with all stakeholders.

Classification & Compensation Duties:

  • Direct complex classification studies and position audits to recommend the proper assignment of positions to job groups and pay grades.

  • Conduct compensation reviews to develop salary recommendations for new hires, promotions, and transfers and pay adjustments to ensure equity and compliance with County policies and collective bargaining agreements.

  • Analyze and interpret salary survey data to develop compensation structures and programs to ensure market competitiveness.

  • Respond to other agency requests for compensation and classification information.

    About You

    Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in HR, Business, Public Administration, Organizational Development, or a related field.

  • Experience gained through internships or fellowships may be considered.

    Tier II:

  • Three years of professional-level related experience in HR, including recruitment, advertising, and sourcing.

    Tier III:

  • Six years of professional-level related experience in HR, including recruitment, advertising, and sourcing.

    Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with classification and compensation including conducting salary surveys and assigning appropriate pay levels.

  • SHRM-CP/SCP or PHR/SPHR.

  • Bilingual in English/Spanish.

    About Everything Else

    Hours: Typical hours are Monday - Friday, 8:00 am. - 5:00 pm. Occasional early evenings or limited weekend hours required for hiring events.

    E-Work/Hybrid Work: Currently this position is eligible to e-work up to 2 days per week! After you complete your first six months, contingent on work requirements and other factors, you’ll be eligible for this fantastic benefit.

    Pay:

    Tier II: $ 57 ,000 - $65,000, based on your experience

    Tier III: $66,000-$75,000, based on your experience
