Responsibilities

About This Position

In keeping with the Marian Medical Center health care philosophy the Registered Nurse manages quality patient care through the nursing process. Coordinates plan of care with the health care team. Assumes leadership role for unit personnel to prepare and assist them with their responsibilities. Employees are responsible for completion of unit competency assessments annual safety review CPR and renewal of license by maintaining continuing education units as required by hospital policy. In addition to these major responsibilities the Registered Nurse may be assigned other duties.

Qualifications

inimum Qualifications for NICU RN:

  • Registered nurse with 3 years of experience. Other candidates to be considered on an individual basis and attributes.

  • Has education, training and demonstrated competency in neonatal critical care (NICU).

  • Current California Registered Nurse license.

  • Current approved health care provider CPR certification. BLS.

  • NRP Certification.

  • Current ACLS or completion of ACLS course within 6 months of employment.

  • Applies the nursing process in the provision of care to the full compliment in gestational ages and pathophysiological and psychosocial complexities in the NICU environment. Demonstrated competence in the understanding and use of various technologies in the critical care environment. Competence in attending deliveries and internal transports.

Please be advised that this location requires quarterly American Heart Association (AHA) Resuscitation Quality Improvement (RQI) competency certification post-hire. This ongoing competency is required through resources internal to the facility; outside RQI competency resources are not acceptable for CommonSpirit Health compliance requirements.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Registered Nurse with a minimum of 4 - 5 years of experience at a Community or Regional Level Newborn ICU work experience.

  • BSN, NICU certification and/or Masters degree.

  • National certification in NICU, STABLE and transport certification.

  • Certification in LACTCON

Pay Range

$46.78 - $69.81 /hour
