Overview

An environment of dignity and compassion prevails at Marian Extended Care Center, our 95-bed skilled nursing center providing sub-acute health care for individuals in need of short-term, intermediate, or long-term care. Marian Extended Care is conveniently located across the street from Marian Regional Medical Center, and provides its patients and residents with immediate access to the finest routine and emergency medical care on the Central Coast. At Marian Extended Care Center, our patients and residents receive services from trained staff whose foremost concern is your comfort and recovery. Services include but not limited to; Activities program, Comprehensive Care Program, Enterostomal /wound therapy, Restorative nursing program, Skilled nursing care, Social Services, Sub-acute Rehabilitation services including physical, occupational, and speech therapies, radiology services, laboratory services, pharmaceutical services and therapeutic dietary services

Responsibilities

About This Position

In keeping with the Marian Medical Center health care philosophy the Registered Nurse manages quality patient care through the nursing process. Coordinates plan of care with the health care team. Assumes leadership role for unit personnel to prepare and assist them with their responsibilities. Employees are responsible for completion of unit competency assessments annual safety review CPR and renewal of license by maintaining continuing education units as required by hospital policy. In addition to these major responsibilities the Registered Nurse may be assigned other duties.

Demonstrates knowledge of the nursing process and the ability to apply these principles appropriately. Demonstrates a caring compassionate attitude toward others. Demonstrates ability to organize and prioritize work efficiently. Demonstrates clear effective written and oral English skills and objective active-listening skills. Ability and willingness to actively participate in process improvement activities. Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work with others across all departments. Reacts calmly and efficiently in emergencies. Collaborates and provides leadership with patient-care team. Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work with others across all departments. Ability to achieve results for the organization with and through people utilizing creative and innovative solutions conflict management problem-solving skills.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Registered Nurse Graduate with 6 months to one (1) year of work experience and new graduates without acute care experience will be considered on an individual basis.

  • Current California Registered Nurse license .

  • Current approved health care provider CPR certification.

  • Current ACLS or completion of ACLS course within 6 months of employment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • One to two years critical care experience preferred.

Pay Range

$32.98 - $62.66 /hour
