Description

A.T. Still University's College for Healthy Communities (ATSU-CHC) is seeking a full-time exempt Associate Dean for Academic Affairs on the Santa Maria, California campus. This position is eligible for remote work. The Associate Dean for Academic Affairs will report directly to the Dean of the College and will work collaboratively College Department Chairs / Program Directors to whom they will provide ongoing leadership and support in the areas of accreditation, assessment, institutional effectiveness, faculty development, student success, and academic policy development and compliance.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership and support for programmatic accreditation applications, self-studies, and required compliance reports for each academic program's respective programmatic/specialized accrediting bodies.

  • Organize, collect, and monitor information and data required for programmatic and institutional accreditation and effectiveness.

  • Contribute to developing documents required for developing new programs, including internal business plans, Higher Learning Commission (HLC) applications, California Board for Private Postsecondary Education (CA-BPPE) applications, and accreditation applications.

  • Develop and lead a college-wide faculty development initiative to recruit and retain diverse and high-performing faculty to achieve the collective missions of the academic programs and the College.

  • Support the development and implementation of programmatic initiatives for student success, including the college-level oversight of issues pertaining to academic and behavioral codes of conduct and student progression.

  • Assist in developing and overseeing all College and programmatic policies, practices, guides, and websites to ensure compliance with state and federal laws, University policy, HLC policy, and CA-BPPE policy.

  • Positively contribute to developing a college-wide culture of quality assurance, quality improvement, innovation, and compliance.

  • Accreditation, assessment, institutional effectiveness, faculty development, student success, and academic policy development and compliance.

Education & Experience:

  • Doctoral degree in higher education or related field required.

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in higher education accreditation and assessment required.

  • Previous administrative experience within higher education.

  • Experience leading and managing programmatic accreditation activities.

  • Experience evaluating policies and practices for compliance with internal and external stakeholder requirements.

  • Ability to write, proofread, and edit materials for specific audiences.

  • Ability to work independently, multitask and prioritize high stakes workload, and to respectfully assure stakeholder cooperation to achieve desired outcomes.

  • Comfortable using statistical analysis software such as SPSS.

The salary range for this position is 160,000 to 200,000 based on experience.
