Responsibilities

In keeping with the French Hospital Medical Center healthcare philosophy the Laboratory Assistant (Phlebotomist) is responsible for obtaining blood urine and culture specimens from patients ranging in age from newborn to geriatric according to established procedures of French Hospital Medical Center Laboratory and State and Federal Regulations. Performs clerical functions and may perform routine repetitive specimen testing under direct supervision of a licensed technologist. Rotates shifts holidays and weekends as needed. Duties and responsibilities may be added deleted or changed at any time at the discretion of management following written notice.

This position is represented by SEIU-UHW and is covered by the terms and conditions of the applicable collective bargaining agreement.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Currently certified by the State of California as a Phlebotomist (CT PHLEBOT)

  • Current American Heart Association BLS certificate (CT CPRBLS)

  • Please be advised that this location requires quarterly American Heart Association (AHA) Resuscitation Quality Improvement (RQI) competency certification post-hire. This ongoing competency is required through resources internal to the facility; outside RQI competency resources are not acceptable for CommonSpirit Health compliance requirements.

Pay Range

$25.38 - $30.34 /hour
