We are looking for a  Commercial Banker in  San Jose, CA. This role focuses on acquiring and servicing commercial loans, commercial real estate loans and bank services in accordance with individually established business development goals.

Essential Functions:

  • Achieves annual managed portfolio growth goals.

  • Initiates and implements an effective marketing strategy maintaining and increasing commercial banking relationships.

  • Understands the local market and proactively develops relationships and has established a center of influence network.

  • Maintain and grows current and new relationships by presenting new lending opportunities and recommending business and personal banking products to new and existing prospects/clients.

  • Knowledge of deposit products, cash management, loan products, lines of credit and personal banking products and services.

  • Knowledge of commercial lending complex credit structures and cashflow analysis.

  • Knowledge of investor real estate lending.

  • Obtain and understand financials statements, tax returns and other credit information and maintains credit files for all prospects and clients.

  • Work with underwriting teams to negotiate and structure new credit request, renewals preparing relevant information for underwriting.

  • Work closely with underwriting and portfolio management teams to provide responsiveness to portfolio management needs and reporting responsiveness.

  • Additional duties and responsibilities may be assigned as needed.

  • Knowledge of and/or compliance of Federal, State and bank policies, procedures and regulations.

    Qualifications:

  • Requires a Bachelor's degree in business, finance or a related field and 6+ years commercial lending and credit underwriting experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience may meet qualifications.

  • Employs advanced knowledge as a generalist or specialist for unique customer product segments of lending and credit analysis, preferably in a commercial lending environment.

  • Advanced knowledge of bank products and commercial lending techniques and procedures.

  • Ability to expand loans, client relationships and cross sell bank products.

  • Familiarity of the sales, loan processing and closing processes. Excellent underwriting skills.

  • Ability to interview loan applicants and have a strong perceptive on character judgment.

  • Ability to structure loans and monitor credit performance.

  • Must have excellent interpersonal, presentation and communication skills.

  • Working knowledge of software applications, including word processing and spreadsheets.

    This position is eligible to earn a base salary in the range of $120,000 - $175,000 depending on job-related factors such as level of experience.
