SAIC Training Specialist for Maritime Patrol Aircraft in SAN DIEGO, California

Description

SAIC is looking for an experienced Training Specialist for Maritime Patrol Aircraft in San Diego, CA to facilitate high-end training for Navy strike groups as they prepare for deployment. You will be part of a small team of highly focused experts that research, develop, present, and facilitate complex, high-end war games and other fleet training exercises. You will provide Subject Matter Expertise in the latest doctrine, tactics, & systems for maritime patrol and P-8A employment. You will prepare necessary maritime patrol planning and scenario products for war games. During war games you will simulate and role-play P-8A aircraft and other maritime patrol assets on a variety of warfare missions. You will liaise with Navy and Joint centers of excellence on the latest warfare tactics, techniques, and procedures, with the potential for occasional travel to Fleet Concentration Areas.

Job Duties:

  • Provide Maritime Patrol and Reconnaissance Aircraft (MPRA) tactics and employment SME support.

  • Develop MPRA aspects of training scenarios, incorporating the latest doctrine, tactics, techniques and procedures for P-3/P-8 aircraft employment and integration with other forces.

  • Create, test and employ Modeling and Simulation (M&S) playfiles for events, role-play aviation platforms, ships and staffs as required for events, and provide feedback to event instructors.

  • Liaise with MPRA and other squadrons, wings, and Navy warfare centers of excellence on P-8A and other platform developments in tactics and doctrine.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree; years of experience accepted in lieu of degree.

  • Ten (10) years of experience in planning, implementation and execution of Navy maritime patrol missions and aircraft employment in P-8A Poseidon and/or P-3 Orion aircraft. Expertise in aircraft systems usage and integration.

  • Five years of experience in developing and executing maritime patrol training scenarios based on training objectives or equivalent training experience.

  • Thorough knowledge of aircraft tactical employment as part of a larger force and mission.

  • Must already possess Interim Secret clearance will ability to obtain and maintain Secret clearance.

  • Qualification as TACCO or equivalent warfare area qualification.

  • Experience operating and employing aviation simulators for training.

Desired:

  • Experience with Fleet Synthetic Training.

  • Experience with Live-Virtual-Constructive training initiatives.

  • Qualification as Weapons and Tactics Instructor (WTI) or equivalent.

Target salary range: $125,001 - $150,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
