Tactical Engineering & Analysis, INC Test Analyst in San Diego, California

Overview

We are currently seekinga Test Analyst to perform developmental support, test, evaluation, and analysis of U.S. Navy Tactical Data Link systems to include JTIDS Class II; MIDS-LVT (all variants), MIDS On Ship (MOS), and MIDS Joint Tactical Radio System; Link 11; Link 4A; and Link 16 with integration and interoperability certification.

Responsibilities

Essential Functions/Job Duties:

  • Perform tactical communication systems analysis on Tactical Data Link (TDL), Advanced Tactical Data Link (ATDL), Software Defined Radio (SDR), and/or related C4I systems.
  • Support TDL/ATDL TandE and troubleshooting and TDL/ATDL specifications, TDL/ATDL architectures, and TDL/ATDL operational environments.
  • Analyze system specifications/requirements and design tests to validate and verify hardware meets requirements.
  • Provide TandE planning and execution artifacts.
  • Define how the test requirements will be assessed, and develop scenarios and network parameter files required to create the required test environment.
  • Support TandE and troubleshooting with TDL end-to-end, performance and root cause analyses.
  • Define how the test requirements will be assessed, and develop the test scripts (network loads and Link-16 message scripts) necessary to create the required test environment.
  • Perform regression testing on various TDL hardware. Identify and plan tests for functional areas not previously covered, plan follow-on testing, software/hardware version updates, review engineering change proposals, resolve trouble reports, and review regression testing.
  • Generate technical reports identifying problems, describing the steps involved in the investigation of the problems, identifying any test scripts employed in the investigation, and describing the results of the investigation.
  • Provide post-test analysis, test report development support including trouble report generation, participation in development of test and data analysis reports, initiation of draft/feeder inputs to unscheduled test reports, and recommended revisions to the formal test report.

  • RF Test Equipment
  • Computer Systems (PC)

Typical Working Conditions:

  • General office environment with USG provided NMCI Computer and peripheral equipment
  • TEA Corporate laptop will be provided at the discretion of Executive Management

Essential Physical Tasks:

  • Ability to lift 10 lbs. on an occasional basis.
  • Possibility of occasional domestic travel up to 10% of the time by automobile, air, etc.
  • Ability to use a personal computer, keyboard and mouse on a consistent basis.

Written Communications:

  • Operates standard computer based business tools (including but not limited to Microsoft Word and Excel) effectively with a high degree of competency.
  • Independently generates documentation that presents information in a logical manner.

Verbal Communications:

  • Demonstrates excellent clear and concise verbal communication skills.
  • Active communicator - giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate.
Qualifications

Skills / Qualifications:

  • Requires zero to three (0-3) years technical experience in the developmental support, test, evaluation, and analysis of U.S. Navy Tactical Data Link systems to include
    • JTIDS Class II
    • MIDS-LVT (all variants)
    • MIDS On Ship (MOS)
    • MIDS Joint Tactical Radio System
    • Link 11
    • Link 4A
    • Link 16 with integration and interoperability certification.
  • Knowledge of general Networking principles and techniques.
  • Understanding of the OSI Model.

Customer Interface Activities:

  • Participate in weekly test status, planning meetings with the US government customer.
  • Participate in te hnical interchange meetings with the US government customer.

Work Schedule:

  • 9/80
  • The ability to work non-standard work hours and schedules in support of project requirements.

Travel:Up to 15%

Minimum Education Requirements:

  • BS in Information Systems, Information Tech, Information Assurance
  • Degree can be substituted with 2 years relevant experience

Required Certifications:IAT Level 1 Desired

Pay Range:$75,000.00 to $90,000.00 annually, DOE

U.S. Citizenship is required

Security Clearance:

Candidates must have an active clearance OR the ability to obtain a US Government security clearance, and will be subject to a US security background investigation (i.e. favorable background investigation / credit score). Additional eligibility requirements for access to various levels of classified information may also be required. An active security clearance is highly desirable.
