Job Description

1.0 Summary of Job Purpose:

• Responsible for examining materials for quality and defects. Ensures that people, equipment, and materials are used properly to maximize productivity.

2.0 Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Conduct routine and non-routine Quality Control Inspections of in-process materials, raw materials, environmental samples, finished products, test operations or stability samples

• Interpret test results, compare them to established specifications and control limits, and make recommendations on appropriateness of data for release. Investigate or report questionable test results

• Complete Quality Control Inspector documentation needed to support testing procedures including data capture forms, equipment logbooks or inventory forms

• Participate in out-of-specification and failure investigations and recommend corrective actions

• Perform various checks (administrative, dimensional, visual and condition) to verify product, part, subassembly and system conformity in accordance with quality and technical instructions, and/or using measuring instruments, to ensure overall compliance of the finished configuration with the customer's order

• Deal with quality notifications and report any nonconformities immediately; check equipment conformity

• Ensure application of quality standards in accordance with customer satisfaction, production deadlines and budgetary requirements

3.0 Required Competencies; Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Education: High School diploma or Associate degree in Quality Assurance

• Minimum 3 years working as a Quality Control Inspector in the aerospace inspection industry.

• Good arithmetic skills, mechanical aptitude desired.

• Intermediate level proficiency of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word desired.

• Proven experience using Quality Control Inspector tools including, gages, micrometers, torque testers, hand tools etc.

4.0 Physical Requirements:

• While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk.

• The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.

• The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet.
