Job Summary:

The Quality Engineer II is accountable for supporting new product development and/or production or manufacturing activities through the application of Quality engineering skills for medical devices. This person will understand, improve, and control operational processes to realize predictable product flow while satisfying established BD standards of quality. Successful performance requires close work with quality management, operations, R&D, PMO, suppliers and/or BD associates to assure compliance with all BD quality policies, procedures, and practices.

Responsibilities :

1 Provides critical quality engineering direction to projects with respect to generally accepted quality engineering tools/principles, such as root cause analysis, FMEAs, risk mitigation, validation, DOE/other process improvement tools, measurement and measurement systems analysis, sampling, and control plans.

2 Applies moderate level application of technical principles, theories, concepts, techniques, and quality sciences / tools.

3 Develops solutions to routine problems of moderate scope.

4 Follows company procedures and makes basic procedural updates.

5 Demonstrates working knowledge of applicable regulatory, Corporate and/or Unit requirements.

6 Track, trend, and report quality metrics such as nonconformances. This is achieved through effective analysis of quality data, provide recommendation to address adverse trend.

7 Provides audit support (preparation, closure, etc. activities)

8 Establishes a strong working relationship with all levels of operations in order to appropriately monitor and analyze in-process inspection, process control activity, waste and reject rates, PM compliance, environmental control and customer complaint levels in order to take a lead role in identifying and documenting continuous improvement projects.

9 Leads and assures appropriate activities to address product nonconformances through MRB and CAPA process.

11 Additional responsibilities maybe evaluated and or added, based on business and quality needs. Performs other tasks assigned by management as required.

12 Revises policies/procedures. Prepares reports, including quantitative / qualitative analysis, summaries, and protocols.

13 Exercises judgment within generally defined practices and policies in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions to problems with broad scope and complexity.

14 Support the change control process, such as; the Assessment of Change Request or Change Events.

Minimum Requirement:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Science

• Minimum of 2 years of relevant Quality engineering or Quality Assurance experience in New Product Development

• Applied knowledge of applicable regulatory requirements.

• Experience in design of experiments and statistics.

• Class II / III medical device experience (preferred).

• Knowledge of six sigma methodology preferred. Knowledge of design control principles.

• Ability to support internal / external Quality Systems audit.

There are many factors, such as location, that contribute to the range displayed. The salary offered to a successful candidate is based on experience, education, skills, and actual work location. Salary ranges may vary for Field-based and Remote roles.

Salary Range Information

$79,000.00 - $130,400.00
