Serco Logistics Engineering Consultant in San Diego, California

Position Description

Serco is looking for an experienced and enthusiastic team member to join a high-profile and challenging project supporting the US Navy. The Naval Information Warfare Center Pacific (NIWC Pacific) Unmanned Maritime Vehicles Laboratory (UMV Lab) has been designated the In-Service Engineering Agent (ISEA) for the new Maritime Expeditionary Standoff Response (MESR) program of record, which is scheduled to reach Initial Operating Capability (IOC) in Q4 FY24.

You will be part of a team that works closely with the customer and other Serco team members to deliver high technology Naval systems. You will provide technical support for our customer as part of an integrated team on-site in San Diego, CA.

The Logistics Engineering Consultant is a managerial position which entails leading the development and execution of the NIWC MESR Logistics Management program. The job will include working daily with members of the program office, NAVSUP, the NIWC MESR engineering and ISEA Team and others to establish and manage the ISEA logistics support program.

In this role, you will:

  • Working with program office and ISEA teams to meet Program of Record Material Support Date requirements

  • Successfully leading the ISEA team through a program of record material support date

  • Development and management of system National Stock Numbers (NSNs) and Allowance Parts Lists (APLs)

  • Development and management of program Level of Repair Analysis (LORA)

  • Manage and update the program Life Cycle Sustainment Plan (LCSP)

  • Develop and manage spare parts requirements, including creating financial budgets, developing and managing parts demand calculations

  • Close working relations with NAVSUP to develop and manage a material support plan

  • Develop and manage the MESR Supply Support Plan, including provisioning for initial support, and acquiring, distributing, and replenishing spares and parts inventories.

  • Develop and manage annual budgets for parts replenishment. Estimate parts requirements and manage the replenishment process. Meet budgetary guidelines and estimates. Recognize potential off-track situations early enough to allow for corrective action.

  • Develop and manage the MESR Provisioning Policy and associated technical documentation

  • Manage ISEA Production Readiness Reviews and Supportability Reviews

  • Manage the development and upkeep of the MESR Maintenance and Material Management (3M) program, including publication of Maintenance Requirement Cards (MRCs) and similar documents.

  • Preparing and delivering decision-level briefs, papers and presentations

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you must have:

  • A Bachelor's degree and candidates should have a minimum of 8 years demonstrated experience

  • Education may be adjusted for highly specialized knowledge or uniquely applicable work experience.

  • Position requires ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance (post employment) in order to receive a Common Access Card (CAC)

  • Experience working with SharePoint or other, similar shared document and database systems

  • Strong computer and analytical skills

  • Ability to travel 25%

In compliance with state and local laws regarding pay transparency, the salary for this role is $96,936.08 to $157,519.86; however, Serco considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, education/training, and key skills.
