Universal Health Services National Military Liaison in SAN ANTONIO, Texas

Responsibilities

POSITION PURPOSE : To develop and educate direct Military and VA referral relationships in designated regional area markets. Travel to assigned military installations to educate referrals sources about Mission Resiliency and VA programs, the clinical criteria, programming, data, and administration & admission process to generate desired utilization/admissions to the facility's continuum of care. To provide the pinnacle of customer service to all accounts, internally and externally.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Develop and implement strategic military and VA referral account management plans that support the facility clinical resources, resulting in admissions to the facilities programs.

  • Support and model high customer service standards internally and externally.

  • Participate in clinical orientation to units and/or programs and stay abreast of service line changes that may be important to facility customer base; thus generating potential admissions.

  • Participate in the facility community education development meetings.

  • Adhere to the account management plan and complete duties assigned therein.

  • Establish consistent contact with military and VA referral sources and maintain a continuum of care within the Laurel Ridge system for admissions, direct care and discharge information.

  • Maintain an updated Referral Management System and protocol documentation associated with account management activities: Assigned rosters. Available by phone/email after hours.

    - Follow up calls/emails on all account activity including: - after call visit follow ups - follow up calls from referral sources - follow up calls on admissions and referrals - follow up calls and collateral on discharges - follow up on new collateral blitz’
  • Participate in Business Development of Service Lines from development to implementation.

  • Assist the director of the department, other team members, admissions personnel, direct care staff, and any other identified staff in carrying out other related military/VA activities. Attend assigned military/VA staff meetings and board meetings when on campus.

  • Obtain and provide facility management with up to date information about changes in the market and the competition for military/VA; maintain POC and protocol systems for each account. Develop and manage new protocol procedures as required.

  • Develop & participate in educational forums in relation to the military/VA internally and externally.

  • Participate in outreach military/VA educational organizations within designated areas to include installations in services, CEU’s, special events, physician visits, etc.

  • Identify and develop new military/VA referral sources for education and awareness of clinical services provided by Laurel Ridge Treatment Center & administrative criteria.

  • Available by phone/email after hours; appropriate, timely responses.

  • Work as a team with the Military/VA and Civilian/VA Business Development Departments while in the office and on the road.

  • Plan, organize, and implement on campus support groups for military/VA dependents

    Qualifications

    QUALIFICATIONS :

    SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES: Good verbal and written skills. Completion of a sales training program preferred. Military marketing experience. Skills in public speaking and problem solution. Excellent customer service skills. Travel required; financial ability to travel.

    EDUCATION: Bachelors Degree in Marketing/Public Relations/ Counseling or a social science related field (minimum) or equivalent military experience.

    LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION: Valid driver’s license.

    EXPERIENCE: 3+ years of healthcare marketing/sales or sales experience in a related field. Psychiatric health care marketing experience preferred.

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

    • Must be able to key at a computer.

    • Must be able to review reports containing data with small print.

    • Must be able to read and write proficiently in English.

    • Must be able to speak clearly.

    • Hearing and vision sufficient to perform the essential job functions.

    • Must be able to travel by car and airplane, sitting for long periods of time.

    • Must be able to occasionally life 30 pounds and carry small objects.
