The Sawant-Pokam lab is in the Department of Neurology at the University of Utah School of Medicine and is seeking a highly motivated postdoc for a NIH funded project focused on cellular and synaptic mechanisms underlying network excitability following traumatic brain injury. Individuals will use a variety of techniques, including in vivo whole-cell recording and two-photon microscopy, brain slice physiology, and genetic manipulation.Dr. Sawant-Pokams lab is adjacent to many interdisciplinary groups of investigators who focus on the processes that cause neurological disorders ranging from migraine to traumatic brain injury, epilepsy, and Alzheimers disease.
