The Division of Pediatric Critical Care in the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Utah School of Medicine is seeking additional Pediatric Intensivists. Clinical responsibilities will include attending in the Pediatric Intensive Care Units (PICUs) at Primary Children’s Hospital ( PCH ); Utah Valley Hospital in Provo, Utah; and Primary Children’s Miller Campus in Lehi, Utah, starting in 2024. Clinical time may also be performed at outlying facilities in the region and care rendered via telemedicine. In addition to clinical service, there is an expectation for academic work, including education, investigation, administration/service, as well as advocacy.

The Division of Pediatric Critical Care at the University of Utah provides intensive care services for patients with critical illnesses admitted to PCH . Division faculty members attend both a 28- bed PICU and/or a 16-bed Cardiac Intensive Care Unit ( CICU ). There are over 2,000 PICU and 600 CICU admissions annually. Our faculty also staff a 4-bed PICU at Utah Valley Hospital in Provo, Utah. Currently a second children’s hospital, Primary Children’s Miller Campus, is in the midst of construction in Lehi, Utah, with an anticipated opening date in January 2024. This will include a 10 bed PICU . The PICU at Utah Valley Hospital will close upon opening of the Miller Campus PICU . The units are staffed with pediatric residents, nurse practitioners, PICU fellows, and board-certified critical care pediatricians. The clinical services provided span all modalities of life-sustaining therapy, including mechanical ventilation, hemodynamic monitoring and support, post-operative cardiac and neurosurgical care, trauma management, continuous renal replacement therapy and extracorporeal membrane oxygenation.

Candidates must be Board Eligible/Board Certified in Pediatric Critical Care Medicine. Successful candidates will receive a faculty appointment on the Clinical or Tenure track at the academic level commensurate with experience and qualifications.
