Faculty Sleep Psychologist, Sleep-Wake Center, Rank DOQ – Spencer Fox Eccles School of Medicine – Huntsman Mental Health Institute Adult Psychiatry Division

The Huntsman Mental Health Institute’s academic partner, the University of Utah’s Department of Psychiatry, Adult Psychiatry Division, is recruiting a full-time faculty sleep psychologist to assist U Health’s Sleep/Wake Center in the coordination and delivery of behavioral sleep therapy services for patients with insomnia.

Successful candidates will have a faculty appointment in the Spencer Fox Eccles School of Medicine Department of Psychiatry with rank based on academic experience and professional accomplishments.

Qualifications:

Applicant must have a PhD in Clinical Health Psychology and must be in the process of gaining licensure as a Psychologist in the State of Utah.

Responsibilities:

The applicant should have a solid record of clinical experience assessing individuals with insomnia. A strong commitment to patient care is essential. The position will involve interacting with faculty and advanced practice providers to holistic sleep care to patients with wide range of sleep disorders. The applicant will be expected to work with the Medical Director of the Sleep-Wake Center on understanding the overall needs for behavioral sleep therapy and will coordinate with other behavioral sleep providers in addressing care for insomnia patients using individual and group therapy approaches. There are opportunities for scholarly work and educating practicum students, postdoctoral students, and residents.

Participation in Sleep/Wake Center educational events will be expected. Department of Psychiatry expectations include engagement in faculty and division activities and potential service on department or U Health committees.

The percentage of effort spent in clinical care, education, investigation, and administrative activities will be negotiated annually.
