Job Summary

We are in search of a dynamic and motivated Events & Student Experience Coordinator to join the Executive MBA ( EMBA ) program at the University of Utah. Operating within a professional, customer-centric, and results-oriented environment, this role is pivotal in delivering exceptional student services and enriching the overall student journey. The ideal candidate will exhibit a passion for events, hospitality, and providing top-notch customer service to EMBA students, ensuring an unparalleled academic experience. This position involves extensive interaction with prospective and current students, alumni, faculty, vendors, and university staff, necessitating effective collaboration, coordination, project management, and teamwork.

Responsibilities

  1. Event Planning and Execution: Organize and oversee student-focused events and activities aimed at fostering networking, peer interaction, and community building within the EMBA program. Coordinate all aspects of class days, managing logistical arrangements such as scheduling, catering, IT, classroom support, and ensuring availability of all necessary resources. Plan, organize, and execute a wide array of student and alumni events, including but not limited to social hours, orientation, graduation, guest speakers, and alumni gatherings. Evaluate programs and events and implement improvements for an enhanced student experience.

  2. Faculty Support: Conduct pre-course meetings with faculty to assess support requirements and preferences. Coordinate the procurement and delivery of course materials such as books, cases, and syllabi, ensuring timely delivery. Manage faculty needs within the Canvas platform, including setup of quizzes, distribution of electronic files, and course management support. Offer ongoing assistance and support to faculty throughout the duration of courses to ensure smooth operations and the delivery of high-quality education.

  3. Student Support: Actively engage with EMBA students to cultivate a supportive and inclusive learning environment conducive to academic success. Communicate program details, updates, and important information to students through various channels. Manage communication channels effectively to keep students informed and engaged throughout their academic journey. Serve as the point of contact for student inquiries, providing timely and accurate assistance with program components, policies, and procedures. Collaborate with relevant departments to address student concerns promptly and ensure their needs are met satisfactorily. Maintain student records and databases with accuracy and confidentiality. Solicit feedback from students to gather insights and suggestions for program improvement, implementing enhancements as needed.

  4. Budget Management: Track budgets, reconcile bills, and manage financial aspects of events and student support initiatives, ensuring fiscal responsibility and efficiency.

  5. Recruiting, Admissions, and Enrollment: Assist with recruiting and admissions processes, engaging in significant interpersonal communication to discuss program details with prospective students or new admits via phone, email, and in-person interactions.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or equivalency (one year of education can be substituted for two years of related work experience).

2 years’ of related experience.

Demonstrated human relations and effective communication skills
