Nine-Month Assistant Professor Tenure Track Position

TheDepartment of Parks, Recreation, and Tourism( PRT ) in theCollege of Healthat theUniversity of Utahis pleased to announce a nine-month assistant professor tenure track appointment to begin fall semester 2024. The Department is looking for a research-active faculty member in the area of sustainable tourism and hospitality management who will complement current faculty and build from the inherent strengths of the College of Health, University, and the State of Utah.

The successful candidate will have a strong research agenda that aligns with current research efforts in the Department and College, and possess the drive and capacity to develop and sustain independent research to support graduate students and research activities. Ideal candidates will have a research focus and industry experience in sustainable tourism and/or hospitality management, and a connection to equity, diversity and inclusion ( EDI ) in the hospitality, sustainable tourism and PRT fields. The successful candidate will seek external funding to support their research agenda, recruit and supervise graduate students, teach in the graduate and/or undergraduate curriculum, and work collaboratively with industry, community, and University partners to build the profile of the Department and University as a leader in sustainable tourism and hospitality education and research. Teaching loads in the Department are on average two courses per semester, but this can vary with research activity.
