SUMMARY: This position provides support to Tyson end users for resolving problems with software/hardware issues on all platforms (desktop, plant, floor, front office, etc.). Makes problem assessments and either resolves or receives assistance from other team members. Plans and contributes to the rollout of the implementation of new software and occasionally leads EUS projects. This job requires above average people and communications skills, a working knowledge of the supported business area and can integrate business needs with technical solutions. Must have demonstrated an effective positive approach to customer Tyson IS relationships and can forge strong working partnerships within Tyson IS as well as within the business community.

RESPONSIBILITES:

  • Provides support and training for all desktop and or plant-floor equipment users including problem assessment resolution.
  • Performs software/hardware installation configuration as directed by senior team members or as deemed necessary.
  • Performs analytical technical and administrative work in the planning, design, and installation of new or existing processor-based computer systems in a complex technical environment involving multiple computing platforms and technologies.
  • Follows documented procedures and utilizes the centralized tools to load images to computers.
  • Is expected to document specialty installations for the team when encountered and may propose new procedures for improving workflow.
  • Keeps senior team members informed of unresolved issues or problems that may need special handling.
  • Assists in maintaining software asset inventory records with associated adds moves and changes including procurement of associated software and software product registration.
  • Performs computer operation functions on a daily and weekly basis.
  • Executes programs following standards maintains logbooks of run times, equipment failures, performs data backups, and recovery processes under direction of management or hardware technician.
  • Develops effective technical use documentation for end users as well as for technical installation documentation for team members.
  • Serves as a secondary contact and liaison with GIS data centers or appropriate vendor for hardware software installations and problems.
  • Works closely with the Customer Support Center in identifying and resolving problems in response time associated with the problem severity level.
  • Remains current regarding the end users business needs and leaderships needs to be able to assist in the development of tactical and strategic plans.
  • Assists senior team members and management in developing detailed project plans including schedules; critical path activities; manpower requirements; and constraints; to ensure projects are effectively and efficiently executed.
  • Assists in the research evaluation and recommendation of new technology solutions to meet b siness needs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:

Education: Bachelors degree in computer or business-related field or 4 plus years equivalent related experience.

Experience: 4+ years with desktop computing, hardware configuration, and operation of peripherals (printers, disk drives, network connections, etc.) and a good understanding of software installation and configurations preferred. Must have an in-depth awareness of current computer technology.

Computer Skills: Experience with SAP, Microsoft Office Suite, shop floor data collection systems, MES and PLC ladder logic a plus.

Communication: Must be able to communicate effectively with all level of Team Members.

Supervisory: Supervisory experience preferred.

Travel: 10%

Additional: Spanish fluency preferred.
