Universal Health Services Psychiatric Assessment & Referral Clinician in SACRAMENTO, California

Responsibilities

Sierra Vista Hospital is seeking Psychiatric Assessment & Referral Clinician for the Assessment & Referral Department. The Psychiatric Assessment & Referral Clinician manages inquiry calls, schedules assessments, and performs psychiatric assessments for individuals presenting as an appointment or walk-in. Clinicians provide clinical summary and recommendation based on their findings, consult with the psychiatrist, and refer/ admit individuals to the appropriate lowest level of care based on the psychiatrists orders. Additionally, provide community referrals as indicated and desired by the individuals. May be responsible for initial insurance pre-authorization of admitted patients with-in 24 hours. Required to assist in maintaining an organized and clean department by wiping down work stations at their shift end, auditing and data entry of referrals and calls, re-stocking documents and forms and filing as time permits. Managing the bed board accuracy.

Qualifications

Education:

  • Completed master’s degree for social work, MFT or other mental health or related field, required.

    Experience:

  • A minimum of one (1) year direct clinical experience in a psychiatric or mental health setting, good working knowledge of the DSM V, direct experience in patient assessment, motivational interviewing, treatment planning, and communication with other medical licenses and external review organizations.

    Licensure:

  • MSW, MFT, PCC, license-eligible preferred.

    Additional Requirements:

  • CPR Certification required. Complete knowledge of crisis intervention techniques. May be required to work overtime and flexible hours as needed.
