Responsibilities for the health teacher include:

• Implement content area curricula

• Provide necessary accommodations to meet individual, group, and program needs

• Implement IEPs

• Create a supportive learning environment

• Implement Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS)

• Create partnerships with parents and The Katherine Thomas high school community

  Requirements for the health teacher:

• Bachelors Degree in Health Education or a related field (Required)

• Maryland Special Education Teaching Certificate (Required)

• Experience with students on the Autism spectrum preferred

As a condition of employment, all new hires are required to have received at least the first dose of the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine or the single dose of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine.
