SUMMARY

The Mobilization Tech - Senior will provide support to the interdisciplinary team (Nurses, Physical Therapists, and Occupational Therapists) and leverages input from the Nurse, Patient Care Tech, or Therapist to mobilize patients.

STATUS: Full Time

LOCATION: Rochester General Hospital

DEPARTMENT: Nursing Office

SCHEDULE: Day/Eve/Night- Rotating weekends & holidays

ATTRIBUTES
  • One year experience, in an acute bedside direct care position as a Certified Nurse Assistant, Medical Assistant or Patient Care Tech strongly preferred

RESPONSIBILITIES

Clinical Patient Care & Service
  • Ability to appropriately transfer patients using trained techniques and safe patient handling equipment.
  • Assists patients identified by the interdisciplinary team in the completion of functional mobility and activities of daily living tasks, such as: bed mobility, transfers, ambulation, range of motion, or other simple exercises as directed.
  • Assists patients with self-care only as an adjunct to functional mobility.
  • This may include positioning, toileting, and/or peri-care.
  • Assists the interdisciplinary team in training medical and nursing personnel in mobility techniques and objectives.
  • Documents as directed within the Care Connect electronic medical record.
  • Understand normal vital sign parameters.
Non-Clinical Patient Care & Service
  • Documents as directed within the Care Connect electronic medical record.
  • Communicates effectively with interdisciplinary team including Medical Providers, and others as indicated, regarding patient's response to mobility plan.
  • Reinforces education to the patient and family regarding the efficacy and rationale for mobilization.
  • Maintains inventory, storage, and cleanliness of equipment and unit area.
  • Assists other staff members with patient transfers, toileting, and equipment retrieval/adjustments.
  • Provides support to Patient Care Techs for tasks including, but not limited to, scheduling of patients for mobilization, patient care deployment, troubleshooting and education for complex patient mobilizations.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the unit Nurse Manager.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: M - Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects; Requires frequent walking, standing or squatting.

PAY RANGE: $17.25 - $20.00

The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for successful applicants. It may be modified in the future. Pay is determined by factors including experience, relevant qualifications, specialty, internal equity, location, and contracts.
