University of Rochester Assistant Professor in Rochester, New York

Responsibilities

The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at the University of Rochester School of Medicine & Dentistry is seeking candidates for an Assistant Professor with the skills and interest to develop a strong academic career focused on clinical chemistry. The position is on academic clinician track and will serve the expanding clinical and academic clinical chemistry division.

The successful candidate will serve as Associate Director of Clinical Chemistry. Clinical responsibilities include oversight of the chemistry laboratory for outpatient testing, clinical test interpretation, consultation with physicians and health care providers, and also to provide strategic guidance for the clinical chemistry laboratory to keep the lab on the cutting edge to serve patient needs. The position will have an academic component which may include laboratory-based basic or translational research, or clinical research. Teaching responsibilities may include residents, fellows, medical and graduate students as well as medical technologists.

Candidates must have an MD and/or a PhD with or eligible for board in clinical chemistry.

Pay Range

Pay Range: $155,000 - $285,140 Annually

The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum annual salary for this faculty position. Individual salaries will be determined within the job’s salary range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations. Incentive-based compensation may also be applicable and will be discussed during the hiring process.
