Responsibilities

  • The APP will be the first point of contact for referring services for the Hospital Emergency Radiology Division.

  • Facilitate contact with providers internal and external to Radiology.

  • Protocol CT cases, check images for quality and report critical findings.

  • Verify PICC/Port central line tip location under CT scout imaging to determine readiness of use prior to contrast injection.

  • Point of contact for Radiology Nurses and technicians for contrast related questions to include but not limited to; appropriateness of contrast uses along with management of contrast adverse reactions and/or extravasation.

  • Obtain patient informed consent as needed.

  • Perform fluoroscopic guided procedures as per practice needs. Fluro procedures include but are not limited to video swallows, esophagogram, small bowel follows through, enema, joint aspirations, tube advancements, VCUG/RUG etc.

  • Support academic and educational MR and CT Abdominal efforts to include participation in research projects and exam innovation.

Qualifications

Nurse Practitioner: Masters-prepared graduate of an accredited school of nursing and Nurse Practitioner program. Current State (MN) RN and APRN license and certification as a FNP, ANP, ACNP, PNP, NNP, PMHNP, etc. 

Physician Assistant: Graduate of accredited Physician Assistant program with current PA certification by NCCPA and registration as a PA by the State (MN) State Board of Medical Practice.

BLS, ACLS, First Assist certification from American Heart Association or American Red Cross and DEA registration required.
