Chevron Products Company is accepting online applications for the position of Crane Rigger located at our Richmond Refinery, CA through October 10th, 2024 at 11:59 p.m.

The qualified rigger/crane signal person will perform a variety of maintenance, repair, and construction types of work in the field and shop settings of the refinery, requiring journey-level skill. Qualified successful candidates will perform duties such as preparing and securing loads for lifting and moving, as well as communicating with the crane operator using hand signals or radio communication. inside and outside the Richmond Refinery.

Applies broad-level maintenance and reliability knowledge and expertise across the full spectrum of surface facility maintenance activities, including inspection, troubleshooting, repair, and preventative and predictive maintenance.

As a 24/7 operating refinery, working overtime, weekends, holidays, and shift work is required.

Key Job Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:

  • Performs regular rigging inspections on pre-determined frequencies.

  • Performs regular pre-use safety inspections on equipment.

  • Knowledge of rigging equipment, methods, and procedures.

  • Performs bull rigging of hard-to-reach equipment.

  • Performs jack and rolls.

  • Read, understand, and follow Chevron lift plans.

  • Follows Chevron's work permitting system.

  • Works in Process Plant, Shop, and Off-Plot environments.

  • Teamwork – Ability to work cohesively as a team inside and outside the organization.

  • Responsible for the safe and economic use of resources.

  • Looks for and acts on opportunities to increase efficiency and reduce costs.

  • Ability to grasp complex issues and apply good problem-solving skills to develop recommendations and solutions.

  • Build positive working relationships with operators and other crafts, both internally and externally to Chevron.

  • Ability to communicate across all levels of the organization including Management and Supervision, Technical and Engineering, Operations, and Maintenance.

  • Must be highly motivated, and able to handle multiple projects simultaneously while performing needed tasks with minimal supervision.

  • Flexibility - Willingness to work overtime and/or change schedules when it is a business need, which may include nights, weekends, and holidays.

  • Safety – Successful candidates will possess strong knowledge of safe work practices and foster a safe work environment.

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent.

  • Current certification as a qualified rigger and crane signal person

  • Valid Driver’s License.

  • Minimum of 2 years of recent work experience in a related industry, or an Apprenticeship or

  • Certificate from a Trade/Technical School.

  • Must have strong team and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in an industrial or refinery setting.

  • Additional certifications related to lifting and rigging.

Relocation Options

Relocation benefits won't be considered within Chevron's parameters.

International Considerations:

International assignments won't be considered.

Maintenance Assessments

The anticipated hourly wage for this position is USD 52.83 .
