Description

The NISC IV program at Leidos currently has an opening for a Classification Specialist to workwith the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), which are exciting opportunities to assist in preparing FAA's Human Capital for mission-critical transformational changes by identifying and recruiting a workforce with the leadership, technical and functional skills to ensure the safest and most productive aviation sector.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Serves as a Human Resources Specialist (Classification) responsible for providing position classification and evaluation support to Lines of Business and Staff Offices.

  • Applies comprehensive knowledge and experience in Federal position classification.

  • Develops job descriptions and classifies positions in accordance with applicable position classification standards.

  • Implements standardized position descriptions for a variety of occupations, when applicable.

  • Advises managers on how to design positions for a complex organization.

  • Maintains and ensures position classification accuracy and consistency in interpreting and applying classification standards.

  • Keeps abreast of classification appeal decisions to determine organizational impact and impact on classification practice.

  • Provides management with insight in establishing organizational structures that are efficient, cost effective, and will support desired grade/band levels.

  • Advises management on the accepted principles and rules of judgment in analyzing contentious and complex individual position and organization structure issues.

  • Communicates internal classification policies and procedures.

  • Provides a variety of high-level classification operational and consultative services including quality control of daily classification activities to ensure consistency in decisions as well as compliance with policies, guidelines and procedures.

  • May conduct position reviews and desk audits as assigned to appropriately assess the proper pay plan, title, series and grade/band level of a variety of positions. Thoroughly develops audit reports.

  • May act as a point of contact to provide advice and guidance on the application of policies and procedures.

  • May be called upon to communicate FAA positions and policies and procedures internally and externally.

Basic Qualifications:

  • BA in Human Resources, or closely related field or if no BA degree, a minimum of 8 years of progressively responsible staffing, talent acquisition, or related HR experience is required.

  • 4 years of progressively responsible staffing, talent acquisition, or related HR experience.

  • MS Office Suite proficiency

  • Experience with Classifications.

  • Federal Government Staffing or Human Resources experience

Must have the ability to obtain an interim Public Trust security clearance prior to your start date with Leidos.

Pay Range:

Pay Range $87,100.00 - $157,450.00

The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline onlyand not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
