Job Title: Assembly General Manager

The General Manager, Assembly is an expert leader that drives operational excellence. The General Manager, Assembly will be responsible for planning, implementation, and management of the manufacturing activities in the assigned areas of the plant. In addition, the position requires effective use of materials, equipment, and personnel in safely producing quality products within the assigned budget targets. Accountable for managing people and deploying resources to support the needs of the business by providing direct supervision and ensuring department objectives align with plant and corporate objectives.

  • Plan, organize, and supervise daily assembly operations to meet production targets and client delivery schedules.
  • Monitor production metrics, including output, quality, and efficiency, and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborate with the production planning team to ensure that client orders are fulfilled accurately and on time.
  • Communicate with clients regarding order status and resolve any order-related issues promptly.
  • Oversee the maintenance and repair of assembly line equipment and machinery to minimize downtime and ensure optimal performance.
  • Coordinate with maintenance staff to schedule preventive maintenance activities.
  • Recruit, train, and supervise assembly line operators, ensuring they adhere to safety and quality standards.
  • Foster a positive work environment, promote teamwork, and address any personnel issues as they arise.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback for employee development.
  • Implement and enforce quality control procedures to meet or exceed client specifications.
  • Investigate and resolve quality issues, working closely with the quality assurance team.
  • Develop employee culture aimed at plant cleanliness and set in place processes and programs that insure high degrees of cleanliness.
  • Ability to travel as required by the position and customer needs.
  • Effective ability to interact with other staff or service areas of the company toward the goals of enhancing employee relations, reduction of turnover, serving or supporting committees.
  • Implements and supports Continuous Improvement throughout the organization.
  • Able to work cooperatively including but not limited to team members, support teams, leadership, customer, supplier partners and guests.
  • Able to exercise good judgment in decision-making, ideas, and all aspects relating to the Ecoplastic team and other company relationships.

[QUALIFICATIONS]{aptos=""}

  • Undergraduate degree in Business, Engineering, Manufacturing, or relevant program with 10 years' experience in assembly line processes, equipment, and machinery or 20 years in auto parts manufacturing
  • Proficient using computerized programs, especially Microsoft Office, ERP, SAP
  • Strong experience with environmental, health, and safety practices and standards
  • Experience with QMS and Continuous Improvement
  • Strong communication and public speaking skills
  • Comfortable performing multifaceted projects in conjunction with day-to-day activities.
  • Demonstrate ability to establish credibility and be decisive, but still able to recognize and support the organization's mission.
  • Confidentiality and safeguarding sensitive information/materials is mandatory in this role

PREFERRED

Experience in paint, injection molding, or automotive manufacturing.

Experience with IATF 16949
