TEST TECHNICIAN, SEMICONDUCTORS (STARLINK) One of the most ambitious missions that SpaceX has undertaken to date, the Starlink satellite constellation, is our solution to providing reliable internet to the entire world. In true SpaceX fashion, Starlink is taking the next step in vertical integration by bringing integrated circuit packaging and assembly in-house for development and manufacturing. You will work closely with IC packaging engineers, test engineers, equipment manufacturers and leadership. The success of Starlink depends on the quality, reliability, cost, manufacturability, throughput, and security of the products that you deliver. RESPONSIBILITIES: Execute new product introduction builds across all work centers for test Operate electrical test equipment for validation, characterization, and qualification of new & existing products Identify, document, and escalate occurrences of non-conformance or process deviation Operate, inspect, and maintain equipment for engineering and production sample testing through Design of Experiments (DOE) Participate in continuous improvement processes for safety, yield, performance, delivery and cost Assemble and rework printed circuit boards as-needed Perform electromechanical assembly of specialized test racks and test shelves Perform routine preventative maintenance on lab equipment Fabricate and repair cable harnesses including: soldering, crimping, assembling connectors BASIC QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma or equivalency certificate 3+ years of professional experience in a hands-on manufacturing environment; OR bachelor's degree in an engineering, math or science discipline PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelor's degree in an engineering, math or science discipline 1+ years microelectronics packaging test or wafer test experience 1+ year operating automated test equipment (ATE) in cleanroom Strong understanding of technical documentation, engineering drawings, and schematics Strong computer and analytical skills including proficiency in spreadsheets, databases, shop floor management software (ERP) and related programs Excellent communication and organizational skills Ability to fabricate and repair cable harnesses including: soldering, crimping, assembling connectors Excellent manual dexterity and the ability to perform rework on microminiature electronic components under a microscope ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to work all shifts & be willing to work overtime and/or weekends as needed Standing for long periods of time, climbing up and down ladders, bending, grasping, sitting, pulling, pushing, stooping, and stretching may be required to perform the functions of this position Must be able to lift up to 25lbs. unassisted COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS: Pay range: Test Technician/Level 1: $22.00 - $29.00/hour Test Technician/Level 2: $27.00 - $34.50/hour Test Technician/Level 3: $32.00 - $40.00/hour Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.
